We had mixed feelings about 'On Chesil Beach' by Ian McEwan.
Deirdre emailed me the following (thanks Deirdre)...
"I really enjoyed the book - thought of how sorry it made me feel for couples in those days who couldn't try living with each other first and felt they had to get married... then ended up divorced or worse living with the wrong person!"
...which was brought up at the meeting along with thoughts on adulterous affairs, lengths of engagements, sex before marriage and marital sex, how men age quite well (mind you, they don't have to go through childbirth!!) and all sorts of other interesting debates which my little brain has since forgotten. Do fill in any gaps and feel free to 'reply to all' with additional comments.
