Kam chose 'Nefertiti' by Michele Moran for our April read. Looks like a good choice and hopefully will spark off a few posts!!! Watch this space..........
Well, aside from the hysterics and hilarious jocularity (well needed, thank you ladies!!) we did chat about 'Nefertiti' and found that she was not at all a nice person!! The novel was very factual which some of us found hard going but then Michelle Moran says in the closing pages that a lot of it is fictitious. This made a few of us feel cheated as we were unsure of how much of the book to believe. (I say 'we' but I didn't even start it so my £2 went into the pot!)
Alyson, Kam and Helen did seem to have enjoyed it and I hope they liked my miniature bust (of Nefertiti that is!) as it was this bust (the original oggled by our very own Clare in a Berlin museum) that has made her so well-known all around the world (Nefertiti, not Clare). Millions of replicas exist and I have this question....had Nefertiti lost her left eye??? The original shows her without a left eye (possibly due to an infection after the plaque) but replicas show her with a left eye. Kam and Helen, who both finished the book, could not recall any references to the eye so if anybody knows anything, please pass it on (aye aye; sorry, I'm just being silly now.....)

not for me
Predictable and a disappointing ending. Did read to the end - a reasonable holiday read to pick up and put down
